I am on holiday and so is the blog. Instead of writing some rant about nothing, I’ll wait until I have something worthwile to rant about.

They say I look like Borat

December 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

First post-birthday post. Jesus’s birthday that is. Jesuses. Both me and my home-boy AnAhl have our birthdays soon after we get to Perth. We’re going to have a combined party. It’s going to be huge. The Perthday party. See what I did there? That’s funny to me.

Anyway, it seems I have been infected with some kind of insta-flu. I was totally decked last night. Fever, hallucinations, phantom-pains. You name it. Not very pleasant.

This is how happy me and my sister were yesterday, after chopping some wood for the fireplace. My sister spends an estimate of 6h43min in front of the fire when she’s here. Tending it. She would’ve been a perfect coaler on a ship back in the day.

There are some more pictures from our holiday excursion. I’ll try to get them up as soon as possible.

This is the view from my seat in the couch right now. I apologize for the questionable quality of my photos. I’m taking them with my phone, as I’ve left my camera somewhere at my friends house. Hopefully I’ll get it back this weekend.

I don’t think I’ve actually sat down and watched TV in a really long while. Unfortunately, my sisters have taken control of the remote (I’m the youngest, so that’s how it goes). Apparently “a shot at love with Tila Tequila” is the most appealing show on for the moment. It doesn’t matter though. All that matters is that I’m totally relaxed and am really looking forward to staying that way for the rest of the holidays.

Until I get to Arvika that is. No more relaxation. All out mayhem.

That is all.

Stockholm experience by Jakob

December 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Holy crap, these days go by so fast. I’m not talking about the classic cliché of how time flies – rather that when the sun goes down around 3 it feels like the day is over before it started. Generally, it sucks. Sure, there are some nice aspects. Like staying in, all bundled up with a cup of glögg and a movie. That’s cozy. The rest is shit.

Yesterday was a blast. As I said, it’s hard to come up with good ideas, but I think we got a nice all round experience. First we spent the day doing regular Christmasy stuff like going to different markets, drinking glögg and watching Christmas displays at the stores. We went back home for some of my soon-to-be legendary cooking. Oven baked salmon with vegetables and white wine sauce. Tasty.

Later on we went to the Absolut Icebar. It was really cool actually and I’m surprised that I’ve never even thought of doing it before. It was smaller than I imagined, but just as cold. Not the place you go to for a night of partying. It’s more of an experience and feels quite touristy. The drinks were great though and after I was done I “glued” my ice-glass to the wall. The cape was just as cool as I thought it would be. It wasn’t completely made out of fur, which was a downer at first. Upon closer examination I concluded that it was probably out of some super-mega-space-travel material with a fur-lined hood. Awesome.

Apparently, I wanted to share the experience with you by taking a picture where I’m gazing into the great beyond.

I’m off. Got some dishes to wash, to the sound of Queen of course

The Cape

December 20, 2008 · 3 Comments

Quick update.

A friend of mine is visiting from Scotland and I really shouldn’t be sitting by the computer. Dinner needs to be made, so I should get my apron on and start cooking up some magic. It’s always really hard for me to come up with things to do whenever I have someone visiting. We’re going to the Absolut Icebar tonight, which is actually a pretty cool thing to do. I didn’t come up with it though, so I can’t take credit. Anyhow, I’m pretty excited about the icebar. You get a cape. A freakin’ fur cape. How cool is that? I mean, you drink from glasses made of ice, which is nice and all, but it ain’t got shit on a fur cape. You don’t get to keep it though, which sucks.

I’d hit that.

Breakfast bloggage

December 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The world doesn’t feel as crappy as I thought it would today. I need to be at work in about half an hour and I thought this day was going to be shit. It’s not. In the time I’ve been awake I’ve managed to oversleep twice, shower, clean up a bit of my big pile of clothes and make a tasty pasta sallad, heavy on the pesto and onion (I’m trying to mask my hungover stank).

I’ve also had time to write this. My dedication is that deep.

A friend from Scotland who I haven’t seen in probably 2 years is coming to visit this weekend. What is there to do this weekend? Hit me up if you’ve got any suggestions.

It’s on

I feel good tonight. I’m on top of thangs. Tired – sure. Sore feet – you bet. Doesn’t bother me that much when I’ve got a glass of wine in my hand and a party to go to.

That’s it for now. Gotta hustle.

Pardon

I’ve been beyond worthless at posting these past days, I know. Inspiring and creative schooldays have been replaced by the monotonous and slow life of a shoe-salesman.

That’s why.

This is how I feel, like just another sheep in the herd.

I shouldn’t complain. Fuck it, I do it anyways. Can’t wait til’ the “holidays” when I get to hang out with my family and all the friends that I won’t be seeing much of for… How long? I have no clue. The education in Australia is 2.5 years, but I have no idea where I’ll go after that. The unknown. It’s pretty exciting.

“Ska vi inte lägga oss i trippelsked och bara älska till den här låten?”

December 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I was thinking that I should post something about what is happening right now. The thing is though, nothing is happening. We’re just four regular-ass dudes sitting around doing jack shit. Todays badminton excursion seems to have taken it’s toll. AnAhl was the undisputed winner and I’m proud to say that I came second with Sönder being not too far behind. Källis had some interesting techniques, espcially his mega-power-knee-slide stroke. He ended up dead last but gets a gold star for his artistic endeavours.

We’re trying to figure out what to do tonight. It’s not going very well. AnAhl and Sönder are now lying on my bed, laughing uncontrollably. I don’t know if they’re still laughing at AnAhl’s windbreakage or something else.

AnAhl goes baseball-ballerina.

I like AnAhl. No homo.

It felt like the day was over already when I woke up. My mind is not working properly. I’m in some kind of twilight zone.

I got a comment that my blog could be more personal. I will take that into consideration. I don’t even know who I am today, so that issue will have to be dealt with later on.

I wish I had a sweet audio set-up for my computer. That way I could spend all night in front of the computer listening to music with proper sound.

My good friend Anton has got a pretty sweet analogue/digital fusion going on. It’s a beauty.

Another thing added to the when-I-grow-up list.

Right now I am going to try to escape my quite disgusting odor, then catch a movie with the gabb-man.
